My weight and I have had a tumultuous relationship over the years. For a long time we have had a difficult time with each other.
My first problem with my weight developed at the age of 12. And in your first year of high school, being overweight is not fun. And being seriously sporty it held me back.
My next challenge with my weight developed between the ages of 16 and 18. This was the period when my parents broke up, and eventually got divorced. Needless to say this was a difficult, painful time for me and I piled the weight on.
By the age of 22 I was 210lbs and when Carol, Lucia and I starting developing Vitality TV this used to conflict me. Can I really start a health website if I am overweight? I strongly believe that we all have to walk our talk.
But – along with Carol I did have an approach to health I wanted to share with the world. So we pressed on with Vitality TV – and in all honesty I do find it a bit difficult to look back at those early videos. I hope no-one judges me too harshly.
As the website grew I committed to working on my health – and of course in particular my weight, so when we decided to apply our unique approach to health to the world of weight loss we spent many many hours studying, researching, experimenting and testing the principles on me. After all if we were going to sell a healthy weight loss programme I couldn’t be overweight and maintain my integrity.
I have struggled too. I have been a yo-yo dieter too. And I have come through it all to reach my healthy weight using the principles we developed for the Vitality Programme.
When we started building the programme I was 210lbs. I’m now at a very healthy 170lbs. But more importantly I have worked out what works for me and have put in place a sustainable, health lifestyle – so I have no worries whatsoever about maintaining this weight.
The Vitality Programme will help you achieve your own healthy weight and a lifestyle that will support, nourish and nurture you.
I left the company in 2014 healthier, happier and my ideal healthy weight.
So as I write this today I smile looking back at my journey – and I wouldn’t change any of it for anything. It has made me the person I am today and helped to shape an amazing programme that I know will change the lives of many.
